I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
