Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.
Viewers can expect discovering which players will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
